Page Heading: QWERTY Keyboard Code
Introduction Code

This concise and thorough table shows all qwerty keyboard translations for signs most commonly used in the current Braille music code. It is intended for use by sighted teachers of Braille music users; for those wishing to assist in the transcription of printed music into Braille; and as an experimental system of interest. This system allows computer users to create music which can be interpreted in Braille by visually impaired musicians via an electronic Braille display and/or Braille printer. (Please note, THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL CODE PRACTISED FOR COMERCIAL PURPOSES, AND MUST THEREFORE BE INTENDED FOR PRIVATE USE ONLY.)

The following table is just that, and does not discuss the application, grouping, spacing or multiple use of symbols, so you are strongly advised to inquire about these issues independently. For ease of reference, each sign is numbered, and described in plain text along with their symbolic representation (please note, all letter signs used are lower case unless otherwise stated); and the list is set out alphabetically, with, in many cases, two references to the same sign in order to facilitate its location.
