The Round House Folk first met at an informal folk session at the Kentish Horse pub in Mark Beech during the Autumn of 2007. They have since met for regular practices at Bernard's house, “the Round House”, and have established themselves as a band, performing regularly at local informal folk sessions, village fetes, charitable functions, and other events. They play a variety of Reels, Polkas, Jigs, Hornpipes, Waltzes, and traditional songs from around the British Isles and beyond.

On May 31st 2008, Round House Folk performed their first public gig at the annual Pig's Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale Festival in Mark Beech. Shortly after, on July 27th, Round House played alongside Pig's Ear at the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Kent Wildlife Trust in Bough Beech.

They have since played for many other private and charitable functions, including fundraising barn dances, community projects and village fetes, and continue to receive bookings as far as six months in advance. The band are currently exploring promotional materials, including producing their first cd, so watch this space!
