Page Heading: Tanya's Tail

Tanya, a yellow labrador golden retriever cross, was born on September 3rd 2006, the 75th anniversary year of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. She spent her first few months with her puppy walker, Mrs. J. Castle, in Sevenoaks Kent, who loved and cared for baby Tanya, and who prepared her for her further guide dog training. In 2008, Tanya moved to Maidstone Kent, where she undertook her advanced guide dog training, under the instruction of Lesley Story.

Tanya qualified as a professional guide dog with her new owner Angela Purll, on August 15th 2008. She has since begun her Masters in Music Degree at Trinity College of Music, where she hopes to make lots of new friends, and learn lots of new skills. Embarking on the daily commute into London has been challenging for young Tanya, but she is growing in confidence, and is looking forward to sharing exciting new adventures with Angela.

Stepping into Kresta’s shoes was always going to prove challenging, but Tanya has already made many musical plans in the next few months, including a tour of Belfast, and summer courses in Suffolk and Durham.
